How Whiskey & Wildflowers Came About

I started Whiskey and Wildflowers in my garage in 2020 as something to keep my mind busy. After having my second bub, I struggled with postnatal depression and thought a little cute shop might help me through that next chapter with my third bub.

What I didn’t expect was what it would grow into, not just for me, but for so many others too.

By 2021 we had outgrown the garage and moved into the Weipa shopping centre. After many amazing years in Remote Cape York, our family made the move to Mareeba so the teenagers could stay at home while having access to apprenticeships, and so we could get to more horse events. In late 2025, we opened our regional Qld store in Mareeba. Both stores continue to be backed by the most incredible communities.

It’s become more than a shop. It’s a place to connect, and that’s my favourite part.

If you can’t visit us in-store, I still send that love out in every parcel, wrapped in bright yellow tissue, with little notes and a sunflower sticker.

Thanks for being here.

Love,
Amanda

Why I support the Royal Flying Doctor Service

The RFDS holds a very special place in my heart. Living in remote communities like Weipa, it’s hard to find someone who hasn’t needed them, whether personally or through someone close to them.

They are there in the moments that matter most, providing emergency care when distance would otherwise stand in the way.

If I could donate more, I absolutely would and I hope to be in that position one day.

A strong value of mine is that just because we live remote, doesn’t mean we should have less. Everyone deserves access to the same level of care, no matter where they are.

So far, we’ve processed 35,901 orders in-store and online, with 1,141 of those have being online orders. Thats $1,141 donated so far.

Every online order helps us give back, with $1 from each order going directly to the RFDS.

We’d love your support to help us reach 1,200 online orders by the end of April 2026.
